Hot Chocolate Vancouver 2021 kicks off tomorrow, and we’ve already outlined the basics for you, but if you’re looking for the wildest of wild, look no further.

There are a whopping 39 vendors participating in the sweet celebration for 2021, and we’ve gotten a taste of some of the best, most out-there drinks that you should go after.

Here are the six wildest Hot Chocolate Vancouver beverages up for order this year.

This is the first of four collaborative hot chocolate drinks the celebrated local brand will be offering up during this year’s celebration. It’s made with 66% dark hot chocolate, infused with a magical blend of DL Chicken chiles, dusted with a cocoa powder flame, and served up with a mini hot chocolate cream puff.⁠ Get it for takeout from BETA5’s cafe from January 16 to 22. ⁠

One of Bel Café’s drinks for Hot Chocolate Vancouver, Made and Minted, is available from January 16 to 30. It’s a peppermint vanilla hot chocolate that’s served with a dark chocolate financier.

‘Skip Around The Room’: Kafka’s Coffee

Kafka’s beverage is made from white chocolate and sprinkles. All layered like a proper cake-inspired drink should be, this sip comes with a mini birthday cake on top. Find this offering at Kafka’s from January 16 to February 14.

‘Serengeti Sunset’: Blue Hat Bakery-Café (PICA)

The Blue Hat Bakery-Café at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts will be serving up three creations for Hot Chocolate Vancouver, but we’re keen to try the Serengeti Sunset. Available from January 16 to February, this drink is a white hot chocolate infused with Rooibos tea served with an Orange & Ginger Koeksister, a traditional South African donut.

‘Marmalade Girl⁠’ and ‘The Lost Nest⁠’: Fufú Café

This fluffy pancake cafe has two drinks for the event we have to try this year. ‘The Lost Nest⁠’ is made with maple dark hot chocolate, topped with a candied bird’s nest, chocolate shavings, and maple spiced walnut. This one is served with a mini Fufu soufflé pancake stack skewer, and it’s available from January 16 to 30.

The ‘Marmalade Girl⁠’ will be made with orange hojicha white hot chocolate with white chocolate ganache whipped cream on the rim and top with orange zest and roasted almond bits. This one is served with two pieces of mini hojicha mochi bread. Get it from January 31 to February 14.
