For the 29th year in a row, the Honda Celebration of Light is set to once again thrill crowds this summer when fireworks light up the sky over English Bay.
And now, organizers have announced that the event is one of 30 events across the province that will be receiving a $1.6 million investment from the BC government.

The funds come after an application was submitted to BC’s Tourism Events Program. Festivals selected through the program receive marketing support to help garner national and international attention.
“On behalf of Honda Celebration of Light, I would like to thank the government of British Columbia for their support,” said Catherine Runnals, president of Brandlive, the Event Producer. “We look forward to providing Vancouver with another summer filled with incredible fireworks displays.”
With over 400,000 guests expected to attend each night of the fireworks, the event is one of the most highly anticipated of the summer.
At 10 pm each night, rain or shine, the fireworks will begin from barges located in English Bay.
Music simulcast can be heard on both Z95.3FM and The Breeze 104.3 FM and through the festival’s mobile app, which will be released in early summer. The winning team will be announced on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
Attendees can reserve a seat at the three-day summer festival with exclusive VIP and family-friendly viewing options with the best seats in the house.
Limited seats are available for the three ticketed viewing locations in English Bay: The Keg Lounge, the Concord Lounge at the Inukshuk, and the YVR Observation Deck. For those interested in VIP private events with the best view in the house,
Air Canada’s Business Class Cabanas offer an unrivalled hosting experience, whilst the new space, The Patio, offers larger groups of up to 65 a space to relax and enjoy the show with friends or colleagues.
Tickets to all three viewing areas are on sale through the event’s website.
