15 special holiday take-home feasts in Vancouver that aren't turkey
While there are several Vancouver restaurants offering deliciously prepared holiday meals for dine-in patrons, this year there are more festive take-home and delivery package options than ever before.
There are so many, in fact, that we felt the need to separate our annual “holiday dinners to-go” list into two.
We’ve got a wonderful roundup of traditional, turkey-and-roast-focused meals with all the classic fixings available for takeout, and then we made this one, which includes a variety of unconventional feasts to order for takeout over the holidays.

Heritage Asian Eatery: Heritage Holiday Feast
Eat Heritage at home for the holidays. This spot’s festive feasts include Heritage Chicken, BBQ Pork, Truffle Siu Mai, Gai Lan, Crystal Scallop and Pea Tip Dumplings, to name a few, and the ready-to-eat packages feed two to six people. Orders must be placed 24 hours ahead of time.
F.I.S.H: Seafood Hot Pot Kit
F.I.S.H. (Fresh Ideas Start Here) just launched a Seafood Hot Pot Kit in time for the holidays. This offering is $68 and serves two to three people. Orders must be placed 48 hours in advance for both pick-up and delivery.

Anh and Chi has a great selection of eats you can bring home to celebrate this year, including the Bánh Xèo Vietnamese Crepe Kit for 4 and the Bún Xào Xả Vermicelli Bowl Kit for 4 to name a few.
Como Taperia: Como en Casa Dinner Kit
This Mount Pleasant favourite’s Como en Casa kits comes with simple cooking and plating instructions for some of the eatery’s most popular tapas, which are included in the box with a bottle of sparkling Bonaval Cava. There’s a dinner for two option or a tapas for two box.
Paella Guys: Paella Boxes
The Paella Guys have three different kinds of takehome kits available for pickup in Vancouver and Burnaby. This includes boxes with Paella Valenciana or Paella Mixta in addition to appetizers, desserts, and a box with Spanish charcuterie too.
La Tana: Calzone Kit
Who said a holiday calzone isn’t a thing? La Tana’s meal kits and Fox Boxes are great for any time of year, but the calzone one, in particular, stood out as a fun meal to make at home during the holidays. The package includes fresh pizza dough balls, tomato sauce, pepperoni, olives, roasted mushrooms, fior di latte, and Pecorino Romano.
Minami: Holiday Bento
It looks like it’s something out of a dream, but Minami’s Holiday Bento is 100% real and ready for your kitchen table, Vancouver. Five gorgeous (emphasis on the gorgeous) tiers of the popular Yaletown restaurant’s signature fare comes with this exclusive takeout feast, which feeds four to six people.
Minami’s sister spot, Miku, also has a pretty stellar holiday takeout feast available this year.
Havana: Nochebuena Meal Kits
Have Havana over for the holidays via the Commercial Drive restaurant’s $60 Nochebuena Meal Kits, which feeds two people and includes roasted pork, mashed sweet potato, and more. Partial proceeds from sales will be donated to the Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre. People can pick up on December 23 and 24.
Hy’s Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar
Hy’s is offering a four-course dinner that includes its signature cheese toast, Caesar salad, a choice of New York, Filet or Rib Steak, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach maple-glazed carrots, and a festive cheesecake for dessert. This is available for takeout and delivery via UberEats.
Potluck Hawker Eatery: December Crab Feast Series and Surf and Turf Feast
A Southeast Asian holiday feast with Potluck Hawker sounds fantastic right about now. This spot is offering amazing crab dinner sets leading up to the holidays, and then back by popular demand, the Potluck Surf and Turf Feast with Singaporean Black Pepper and Whole Fried Coconut Chicken ($200 for four to six people) is available for pre-orders only for pick-up on December 24.
Giovane: Cavatelli Box
The Cavatelli Box from Giovane has more than just everything you need to make a delicious pasta feast, it also includes a handmade cavatelli board and rolling pin set. Folks who purchase this box can follow instructions to make traditional “Alla Norma” sauce and add in a bottle of wine for an additional $30.
Gyoza Bar: Holiday Platter
Gyoza Bar’s $60 Holiday Platter feeds four to six people and features eats like spicy pork ribs, the Marukatsu chicken katsu sandwich, and crispy vegetable gyoza, to name a few. You can pick up by pre-ordering via phone or Tock.

Gotham’s four-course feast offers a lobster bisque and an organic winter green salad, a choice of New York, Filet or Rib Steak accompanied by fingerling potatoes, cauliflower gratin and candied beets, and a homemade Baba au Rhum (rum-soaked fruit cake) with Chantilly cream. This is available for takeout and delivery via UberEats.
Nuba: Holiday Side Dish Package
Making your main but need some awesome sides? Look no further than Nuba, as the eatery is offering a Holiday Side Dish Package for delivery or pick-up at its Mount Pleasant location from December 22 and 24. Expect eats like Onion Walnut Bread Stuffing and Za’atar Brussels Sprouts, to name a few.
Rocky Mountain Flatbread: Frying Pan Pizza Kit
The Rocky Mountain Flatbread team has introduced Frying Pan Pizza Kits, a package that has everything you need to replicate a forno-fired pizza at home. The Greater Vancouver Food Bank will receive a $1 donation for each pizza kit ordered for takeout at Rocky’s two Vancouver restaurants.
