Historic New West home being used heavily for spooky TV shoot

A historic home in New West that’s well over a century old has been used extensively in recent months for a spooky TV shoot.
Daily Hive was able to confirm independently from residents in the area who received a notice of filming that the shoot is for the third season of Mayfair Witches.
Mayfair Witches is a supernatural horror thriller based on a novel called Lives of the Mayfair Witches by iconic horror writer Anne Rice. Rice is probably best known for The Vampire Chronicles, which eventually inspired the ’90s cult classic Interview With the Vampire.
Mayfair Witches follows a neurosurgeon and witch named Rowan Fielding, played by Alexandra Daddario. When Fielding gets mad, she can kill with her mind.
The production has been taking place at Galbraith Manor on 8th Street and Queens Avenue, a few blocks away from Douglas College. At least from the exterior, it appears like the perfect spot for a spooky show about witches.
Daily Hive spotted film crews there in late October and again last week.

Production on Mayfair Witches began on Oct. 20 and isn’t expected to conclude until February next year.

Aside from TV shoots, Galbraith Manor, located at 131 8th St., can also be rented as an event space for conferences, meetings and mediations.
“Our Great room can comfortably accommodate up to 30 people. Our Dining Room can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people, and our Lounge can accommodate 6 to 8 people,” the manor’s website says.
BC Assessment says that the property is valued at $2,006,000, and it was built in 1892, making it 133 years old.
“The property is surrounded by a granite wall added in the Edwardian era, which contributes to the stately appearance of the property. It is part of a group of large stately homes which still survive in the Brow of the Hill neighbourhood.”
If you want to see how New West’s Galbraith Manor looks on TV, Season Three of Mayfair Witches is expected to come out sometime in the latter half of 2026.
New West has been a busy spot for filming this year, with several productions taking place in the historic city. In August this year, a brand new TV series featuring some big names was being filmed at Anvil Centre.
