New TV series featuring big names takes over New West landmark

A new TV series called The Audacity, which features several big names and a major studio behind it, has taken over a New West landmark for filming.
A filming notice was posted on the New West subreddit earlier this week, showing several dates and times that filming was set to take over the Anvil Centre at 777 Columbia St. The Anvil Centre won’t be closed; however, portions of it might be inaccessible while occupied by film crews.
Filming at the New West landmark began on July 30, and crews will be in and out and around the Anvil Centre until Aug. 11. Some of the filming will take place in the early morning hours, but the notice suggests crews have partnered with the City of New Westminster to ensure disruptions to neighbours are kept to a minimum.

The Audacity features several recognizable actors like Randall Park, Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, and Zach Galifianakis. It also features a Vancouver actress named Thailey Roberge.
The series is being produced by AMC and Jonathan Glatzer, the latter of whom has been behind producing and writing major hit shows like Better Call Saul and Succession.
Speaking of Succession, entertainment publications are drawing comparisons between The Audacity and the hit HBO series.
“In Silicon Valley’s competitive tech world, a power struggle erupts between an ambitious CEO and his manipulative psychologist when a data privacy scandal threatens their careers,” reads the IMDb synopsis.
Deadline reported that filming began in Vancouver as early as April 25 of this year. The online news site has more on the plot:
“In a world of jaded billionaires, psychiatrist-gurus, bio-hacked tech bros, AI labs and disillusioned teens being optimized in elite private schools, an audacious data-mining CEO (Magnussen) strives to turn insight and influence into profit and power.”
The first season is expected to feature eight episodes and is set to premiere sometime in 2026 on AMC.
