7 most highly-anticipated winter restaurant openings in Vancouver

The time has almost come for winter to start and fall to end, and while we definitely aren’t going to be stoked about the colder weather, we are pumped to get into some new eateries in and around Vancouver.

This city has some seriously drool-worthy establishments set to open their doors this winter.

The new 2,200-sq-ft, 60-65 seat location will be replacing the soon-to-be-shuttered Bistro Pastis at 2153 West 4th Avenue. Patrons can expect the same charming vintage interior, relaxed vibe, outrageously drool-worthy eats, and hours (daily from 8 am to 3 pm) from the third location of the epic brunch spot from co-owners Jim and Candy Walmsley and Mike Deas-Dawlish.

Popeyes Louisiana Chicken – Port Coquitlam

Fremont Village told Daily Hive that Popeyes Port Coquitlam won’t be open until December tentatively. Known for their drool-worthy eats like chicken, fries, and biscuits, this will be the only location for the fast-food chain in BC when it opens at #110 – 2190 Hawkins Street.

The newest bougie Starbucks location, which offers patrons an elevated coffee experience, complete with a Coffee Master-designated barista and multiple methods of brewing your cup of Joe, will be located at 700 West Pender Street when it opens in December.

Haidilao Hot Pot will be located at 5890 No. 3 Road in Richmond. And according to to the brand’s Canadian marketing manager, Ryan Pan, they are aiming for a mid-December opening date.

The Calgary-based purveyor of chef-driven drool-worthy eats like New York-style cheesecake stuffed French toast, breakfast poutine, and their signature takeout breakfast boxes will be opening a location in Vancouver at 1137 Marinaside Avenue (the former location of the Hurricane Grill) this winter.
