We’re sipping our way through Vancouver’s happy hours one drink at a time. Happy Hour is an important time in everyone’s life – or at least, it should be.
La Mezcaleria has a happy hour that is worth leaving work early for.
Why? Because $6 double Palomas – that’s why.
If you head to either La Mez location on Tuesday from 5 to 6 pm and Wednesday to Sunday from 3 to 6 pm (or the Commercial location on Monday nights, too) you can enjoy this refreshing tequila-based citrus cocktail for a fraction of its regular price of $9.50.
This traditional Mexican restaurant makes their Palomas with El Jamidor Tequila Reposado, grapefruit soda, lime, and finishes them off with a thick salt rim.

Along with this, La Mez offers house wine and draft beer for $5 during happy hour, and for food patrons can order mini Queso Fundidos called Quesito Fundidos – AKA a personal pot of melted cheese AKA heaven on earth – for $8. You can even add chorizo for an additional price, basically making this dish pizza in a bowl.
Other food pairings include the Ceviche Callejero (fish ceviche) for its $6 happy hour price or the Amigos Flight, which is the ceviche callejero, octopus ceviche, pico de gallo, and guacamole for $16.
Whether you’re blowing off some steam from a crazy weekday or kicking off your weekend with tequila-fueled shenanigans, La Mez’s happy hour should probably be an appointment in your weekly rotation.
