B.C.'s famous wine-fuelled half marathon is coming back next year, and tickets go on sale this week
Attention all wine lovers! “Skip the Lottery” Tickets for next year’s Half Corked Marathon are going on sale starting July 23.
Returning for the 18th time, the annual run combines the beautiful scenery of South Okanagan with plenty of wine samples to drink along the way.
āThe Half Corked Marathon is a joyful celebration of community, creativity and the incredible wines that define our region,ā said Jennifer Busmann, executive director of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. āInspired by the legendary Marathon du MĆ©doc in Bordeaux, it has, over the past 17 years, evolved into an extended weekend thatās distinctly South Okanagan ā playful, welcoming, and rooted in the spirit of our wine country.ā
Next year will welcome 1,7000 participants, many of whom will be dressed in elaborate costumes, to run along the 22 km route while stopping for sips at tasting stations along the way. Expect live music, themed teams, and spontaneous dance breaks between the vines.
It all culminates at the Finish Line Party, where runners receive lunch and can enjoy more live music and wine in a lush park setting. Here, prizes will be awarded for best individual costume, best team, and best skit.
But don’t think this is just a one-and-done event. The festivities kick off on Thursday, May 28th, with a block party. Additionally, there will also be the return of the popular Dinner at the Farm.
Mandatory in-person registration takes place at the Oliver Community Park on Friday, May 29, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. before race day on Saturday, May 30.

The Half Corked Marathon typically sells out through a high-demand lottery system, but this exclusive ticket release offers early access to this popular event. Skip the Lottery tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, and cost $289.99 plus tax and fees. Tickets include lunch, wine tastings, and transportation from Oliver, Osoyoos, and Penticton to the start line, as well as a safe ride home.
