Grouse Mountain's 90th Anniversary Celebration kicks off this Saturday

Mar 31 2017, 3:13 am

Get your skis shined up and get ready to hit the slopes.

To celebrate Grouse Mountain’s 90th winter season, the resort is hosting a Anniversary Celebration for all residents this Saturday.

“Throughout its rich history, Grouse Mountain has built so many relationships within the Vancouver community” said Michael Cameron, Grouse Mountain’s President.

“It is only fitting that we invite the members of our community including our valued passholders to share this celebration with us.”

The event will have a variety of special activities including a retro parade, live music, an outdoor BBQ, and the 2017 Slush Cup.

“We are excited to invite guests to celebrate with us and take part in some special activities like our spring favourite, the Grouse Mountain Slush Cup” said Julia Grant, Grouse Mountain’s Communications Manager in a release.

The annual Slush Cup requires competitors to make their way through a pool of slush with prizes for best costume, best trick, best crash, crowd favourite and more. So get that crowd cheering and put on your best game face!

The first 90 guests to arrive at the Skyride Ticket Centre wearing their craziest retro attire, think bright and oh so neon, will get a free lift ticket for the day. Any guests who present a retro lift ticket – meaning an old Grouse Mountain season pass – will also only pay the rate of that season.
