After a seasonal closure that shut down the Skyride and closed mountaintop facilities and activities, Grouse Mountain announced on Friday that the Skyride is set to reopen as scheduled, this Saturday, November 9.
A release from Metro Vancouver confirmed that operations will commence bright and early, as the first download will take place at 7:30 am.
The annual closure, which began last month, “allows for maintenance and winter preparation projects to be completed at a time of year when the Mountain traditionally experiences lower visitation,” said the mountain in a previous release.

With operations back up and running, the mountain is also reminding visitors that as we are now “in the cooler, wetter months of the year, it’s always a good idea to take an extra layer with you – to keep you warm up top or in case you need to stop on the trail.” And as usual, “always remember to carry water, a snack, and a headlamp or flashlight.
Those planning to give the Grouse Grind a go are also being reminding that as of Saturday, the access gate hours also change: The gate now opens at 6:15 am, and closes at 3 pm.
