Grouse Mountain closed for 10 days to prepare for winter

Grouse Mountain has started its seasonal closure to allow the mountain to transition from summer to winter operations.

The 2019 seasonal closure will take place from Monday, October 28 to November 8. There will be no upload or download access to or from the mountain and mountaintop activities and facilities will be closed.

“This will allow for maintenance and winter preparation projects to be completed at a time of year when the Mountain traditionally experiences lower visitation,” said Grouse Mountain in a release.

The Grouse Grind and BCMC Trail will be open but hikers should take note there will be no download access on the Grouse Mountain Skyrides.

Downhill hiking on the Grouse Grind is prohibited and hikers will need to us the BCMC trail to get down.

The mountain’s guest services and will remain open from 8 am to 8 pm daily, and the Starbucks in the base plaza will also be open. For more information, visit Grouse Mountain’s website.
