Jan 6 2021, 10:53 pm

A gas station attendant working in East Vancouver was bear sprayed after asking a customer to put on a mask, in accordance with BC’s mandatory health order.

According to VPD, the incident took place during the morning of December 23. The suspect “became upset” when he was asked by the staff to wear a mask and “deployed bear spray at an employee before fleeing.”

Initially, authorities were unable to locate the man, but soon after, they responded to a nearby break-and-enter where the suspect involved in that incident also matched the description of the suspect at the gas station.

The man confessed to the assault with the weapon and was arrested.
