G8 Taiwan Kitchen returns to Richmond in pop-up form

May 22 2020, 8:33 pm

Last fall much-loved local restaurant G8 Taiwan Kitchen closed its brick-and-mortar location, which operated at 8335 Oak Street in Vancouver.

The purveyor, known for its selection of deep-fried eats such as Taiwanese popcorn chicken, squid, and crispy tofu, was expected to reappear this month at its stall in the Richmond Night Market.

The outdoor market has since postponed its 2020 season due to the pandemic, but not to worry, you can still get G8’s eats in Metro Vancouver.

G8 is now popping up every Tuesday in Richmond’s Icy Bar, located at 4940 Number 3 Road #115.

This weekly appearance means you can head to the dessert destination Tuesday from 11 am to 11 pm and grab some of its signature grub, or you can pre-order by calling 778-288-9216.

The menu offers everything from basil popcorn chicken to crispy fish cakes to stinky tofu.

Be sure to mark your calendar and enjoy this weekly pop-up come Tuesday.
