People are giving away toilet paper on Craigslist after panic-buying it

Well, that didn’t take long.

After hordes of panicky people were recently witnessed rushing for the toilet paper aisle as the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak continues, it now appears at least a few of those people have overestimated exactly how much of the precious commodity they would need to make it through the situation.

And while there have been reports of people trying to make a quick buck off the resale of items like toilet paper, it seems others just want it out of their house altogether.

Take this posting on Craigslist, for example:

Yes, believe it or not, there’s no money requested here.

“Free toilet paper!” the ad reads. “My husband purchased an un reasonable (sic) amount of toilet paper.”

So just how much of the stuff did her husband buy? Well, according to the ad, “we have over 500 rolls.”

And now, they are “giving away most of it.”

From what we can tell, there doesn’t appear to be any other catch, other than the fact the toilet paper is “pick-up only,” and is limited to “2 x 30 roll packages per person.”

So there you go. While some people might decide to fight the crowds and hedge their bets in an attempt to create their own personal stockpile, this ad looks like it might be the answer for those who just want to re-stock their bathroom.
