Canadian band Finger Eleven, which was massive in the 2000s, is going on tour again and will play two B.C. cities, but not Vancouver.

Finger Eleven will be releasing its first studio album (aside from 2023’s Greatest Hits) since 2015’s Five Crooked Lines. The album is called Last Night on Earth and will be released on Nov. 7.

As part of the album’s release, the alternative post-grunge rock band that hails from Ontario is doing a Canadian tour, hitting up two B.C. cities.

Finger Eleven, once known as Rainbow Butt Monkeys (1990-1997), opens its tour on Nov. 25 at the South Okanagan Event Centre in Penticton. The next day, the band will be playing at the Abbotsford Arts Centre.

Even though the 2023 Finger Eleven album was a collection of their greatest hits, it included two new tracks, including a cover of Pink Floyd’s Welcome to the Machine. The other song, Together Right, is an original which placed among the top 40 on Billboard’s Canada Rock chart.

Most rock fans will probably know the band best for the massive 2007 hit, “Paralyzer,” from the album Them vs. You vs. Me, which won the best rock album at the 2008 Juno Awards.

The band’s lead vocalist had some thoughts about the new album.

“I think Last Night on Earth could be placed squarely in a traditional relationship frame where you forget what you’re even fighting about,” said lead vocalist Scott Anderson, in a release. “But you hate that feeling in the pit of your stomach when something’s not resolved and you don’t know what tomorrow’s gonna look like.”

Before hitting up Canada, Finger Eleven is touring in the U.S. with Alien Ant Farm and Brkn Love.

For their Canadian tour, Finger Eleven will be joined by Headstones and The Tea Party. Finger Eleven wraps up the Canadian leg of their tour on Dec. 13 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
