B.C. city wins a "once-in-a-lifetime" concert from The Beaches

SiriusXM just announced the winner of the Music Town 2025 contest, awarding a B.C. city an “epic concert” from popular Canadian band The Beaches.
Vernon, B.C., wins the concert prize, beating out other Canadian spots like Amherstburg in Ontario, Antigonish in Nova Scotia and Moose Jaw in Saskatchewan.
SiriusXM calls the concert a “once-in-a-lifetime” show.
Canadians were asked to nominate their town and share what made their community special by Oct. 5. Then, on Oct. 14, the voting and rallying phase kicked off. After today’s winner announcement, the concert planning will begin “with a few surprises and delights along the way,” according to SiriusXM.
Vernon Mayor Victor Cumming was pleased with the news.
“Vernon is a community that thrives on connection, creativity, and celebration,” Cumming said.
“Being named the 2025 SiriusXM Music Town is a testament to our passion and spirit. We’re excited to welcome The Beaches to our city and look forward to this unforgettable music experience.”
The Beaches’ lead singer, Jordan Miller, also shared her thoughts.
“We’re so excited to perform for some of Canada’s biggest music fans,” she said.
“Big thanks to SiriusXM for bringing us to Vernon, and we can’t wait to play for you!”
Vernon is known for its natural beauty and offers plenty of activities for outdoor enthusiasts, including SilverStar Mountain Resort for winter sports.
The Beaches, currently on a massive world tour, are surging in popularity and won a Juno Award for best group earlier this year. They also recently had their own Tiny Desk Concert via NPR Music.
