The FIFA World Cup trophy arrived in Vancouver this weekend, marking the first of seven Canadian stops this spring of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by The Coca-Cola Company ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Soccer fans in Vancouver have a very limited-time opportunity to see the original FIFA World Cup trophy in person before it heads to Calgary, as part of a 38-city North American tour organized in partnership with FIFA.

The trophy tour experience is contained inside a large tent, with the current stop in downtown Vancouver taking over the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery on West Georgia Street. It opened on the morning of Friday, April 10 and will close on the afternoon of Saturday, April 11.
“This is the first stop of the FIFA World Cup trophy tour that is arriving in Canada,” said Diana Brenchley, Director of Brand Partnerships and Sports Marketing at Coca-Cola Canada, in an interview with Offside on Friday.
“So this is the largest and longest tour that we’ve ever done. We’re looking to engage tens of thousands of Canadians. Coca-Cola is bringing you closer to the FIFA World Cup and building the anticipation for the tournament that’s ahead.”

The tour is being held just weeks before the 2026 tournament kicks off, with Vancouver hosting seven matches and Toronto hosting six matches in June and July.
After the Vancouver launch of the Canadian leg of the tour, it will reach the Saddledome in Calgary on Sunday, April 12 and Winnipeg on Monday, April 13. Later in the spring, the Canadian tour will resume in Montreal on May 22, Halifax on May 23, Ottawa on May 24, and Toronto on May 25 and 26.
The tour experience is designed as a fully immersive journey. It begins with a dramatic tunnel walk that leads into a pre-show theatre, where a high-energy video sets the stage and draws fans into the excitement and spectacle of the FIFA World Cup.
From there, visitors move through a Coca-Cola-branded space featuring complimentary canned beverages, a limited-edition Coca-Cola/FIFA souvenir giveaway, and a Coca-Cola bottle mirror wall photo opportunity.

The experience continues through a series of soccer-inspired display corridors, building anticipation before culminating in the highlight — a rare photo opportunity with the iconic original FIFA World Cup trophy, which is made of 18 carat solid gold, weighs 13.6 lbs, and is 14.4 inches tall.
This particular trophy was first awarded in 1974, and only 13 teams have won it since then.
Brenchley said the experience is designed to accommodate up to 1,000 guests per hour. It takes roughly 10 minutes to complete the entire experience.

While Vancouver and Toronto are official host cities for 2026, Brenchley said the tour is meant to connect fans across the country.
“This isn’t just about host cities,” she said. “This is our way to really bring Canadians coast to coast, close to the FIFA World Cup, feel connected, feel a part of the tournament.”
The 2026 tour also represents a significant expansion compared to previous editions.
“This is actually our sixth edition. This is the first time for the men’s tournament that we are doing such a long tour of the seven cities in 10 days,” Brenchley told Offside.

The trophy tour is only the beginning of a broader rollout of FIFA World Cup-themed activations, programming, and other initiatives by Coca-Cola — which is an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup — and other corporate partners, FIFA, local host city organizing committees, municipal governments, and other entities.
That includes upcoming Coca-Cola campaigns and limited-edition products tied to the tournament.
“This really kicks off four more months of FIFA World Cup programming,” she said.
“We have commemorative cans that we’ll be launching shortly, featuring eight of the top nations based on Canadian fandom.”
Coca-Cola will also be present at the official FIFA Fan Festivals during the five-week tournament period held at the PNE fairgrounds at Hastings Park in East Vancouver and the Fort York National Historic Site and The Bentway in downtown Toronto.
“We’ll be also participating in the FIFA fan festivals in both Vancouver and Toronto,” said Brenchley, adding that Coca-Cola will also support viewing events across the country.
This spring’s trophy tour is also Coca-Cola’s largest cross-country touring engagement in Canada since the period leading up to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, when the company sponsored the Olympic Torch Relay and played a crucial role in delivering that themed experience in hundreds of communities.
As well, Coca-Cola set up a major themed pavilion at the 2010 Olympics’ weeks-long Live City Yaletown fan festival in downtown Vancouver.
