Vancouver Canucks fans are some of the most passionate across the entire league. It should be no surprise then that they’ve been gifting the players some creative and knowledgeable things during pre-game warmups recently.

Conor Garland was the lucky recipient of a crocheted shark ahead of last night’s game against the Utah Hockey Club. Garland has a deep appreciation for sharks and loves the movie Jaws.Ā In fact, Garland’s first baby, born earlier this season, is named Quintin, after one of the characters from the film.

The fan threw the shark over the glass right into Garland’s arms. He skated and took it over to the bench, where it was handed off for safekeeping. Garland’s home is filled with different shark-related items and this one will hopefully find a place somewhere.

Garland’s not the only Canucks player who has been lucky enough to get a gift from a fan recently. Rugger winger Kiefer Sherwood also had a cute exchange ahead of the same Utah game.

Sherwood gave a fan a special puck in exchange for a dog toy. He and fiancée Ariel Smith have a German shepherd named Luca.

Sherwood later posted on Luca’s Instagram some videos of the dog playing with his new toy. It seems like it was a huge hit as Luca was running around and loving it.

While those gifts land on the cuter side, Canucks fans have gifted or traded players lots of weird and wacky items over the years. After sniper Andrei Kuzmenko was caught eating a banana and drinking a Pepsi on the bench, fans kept showing up to games with bananas they gave in exchange for sticks.

Former captain Bo Horvat also once gave his stick, which he signed, to a lucky fan in exchange for a chocolate bar.
