Evander Kane got into just two fights last season with a member of the Vancouver Canucks.

Now he’s dropping the gloves with an Edmonton Oilers beat writer.

Sportsnet’s Mark Spector threw the first punch after Evander Kane shared his apparent medical expertise on social media.

Kane, who was suspended 21 games for breaking the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol in 2021, doesn’t appear to believe in vaccines. He took aim at Dr. Anthony Fauci and the media, amplifying a post from Fox News.

“Imagine, Evander Kane with a selfish take,” Spector said in response to Kane.

Now, Kane’s turn.

“Imagine, Mark Spector with [an] idiotic take. The drama of it all,” he said. “I would say more but you might start crying like you did when I gave you a talking to outside the locker room. Don’t tell me you forgot.”

Spec’s response: “That’s quite a world you live in, Evander. Hope your summer goes well.”

Kane and Spector got to know each other during the 6-foot-2 forward’s four seasons in Edmonton, before he was traded to the Canucks.

After 1,001 NHL games, Kane’s playing future is currently in doubt. The 35-year-old is coming off a disappointing season and is currently without a contract for next season.
