Emelle’s Market Bistro comes from the folks that brought you Emelle’s Catering in Vancouver. This eatery is tucked into the main floor of the public market which has a stellar waterfront location just up from Gibsons Marina.

This market has an incredible selection of artisan vendors on its lower level, but Emelle’s Bistro is a great option for those who roll into the market hungry and ready to settle in for a filling brunch.

This bistro serves brunch and lunch, and it’s open Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm – so you can get a head start on any adventures that await you on the coast of BC’s southern mainland.

The brunch menu here consists of classics such as Avocado Toast, French Toast, a daily frittata, Emelle’s Famous Eggers (fried egg sandwich), and a traditional Canadiana Full Breakfast with two eggs, home fries, toast, and bacon or sausage.

The hash offered here changes daily, but you can expect delicious concoctions like this bacon, sausage, and scallion hash with sun-dried tomato pesto and micro greens.

If you’re feeling like you need to stay on the healthy side of things, there are options such as the Healthy Start Breakfast (egg white omelette, avocado, tomato, fruit, and gluten free toast), and one of the five varieties of colourful Buddha Bowls from the lunch menu, like this one with madeira mushroom and chicken.

The amazing stacked burgers from Emelle’s lunch menu pretty much steal the show whether you’re a meat lover or a vegetarian. The bistro offers four kinds including Nacho Chicken Breast, the Fisherman’s Daily Catch, the Housemade Veggie Patty, and ‘The Butchers’ Beef Burger.

The Butcher’s Burger consists of a double smoked infused bacon patty with sweet onion marmalade, and let us tell you, it is oh-so-dreamy. Add on a side of the Cauliflower Fries with Chipotle Mayo and you’ll be in comfort food heaven.

Did we also mention you can add an egg on the burger? This way you can make it a fully-balanced morning meal.

Emelle’s also offers a small selection of baked goods, house made soups, and a variety of local beer and wine too.
