The partners of the Edmonton Oilers seem to be having quite a rollercoaster lifestyle the past few weeks.
Fresh off a trip to Mykonos to celebrate the bachelorette party of Celeste Desjardins, the soon-to-be wife of Oilers star Leon Draisaitl, the party returned to Edmonton this week for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final.

While the game itself was in Florida, it appears that the partners gathered for a watch party at Bar Trove, owned by none other than Lauren Kyle McDavid.
The party could’ve been a sour one: after all, the OilersĀ didĀ fall behind 3-0 in the first period of the Thursday night contest. But an epic game ended up first tied at 3-3 and then 4-4, setting the stage for an overtime few Oilers fans will likely ever forget.
For the fourth time these playoffs and the second time this series, Draisaitl gave the Oilers an OT winner to even the series at two games apiece.
And in true 2024-25 Oilers fashion, the watch party busted out the victory song “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan that has become a staple of the team’s playoff run this year.

The party turned into a “dance-on-your-chairs” affair.

But the highlight of the night might’ve been the continued trolling of the Panthers themselves.
Matleena Laakso, partner of Oilers forward Kasperi Kapanen, shared the shirt that Mrs. Kyle McDavid was wearing: a “Rat on Rats!” shirt featuring a slogan from the Alberta Invasive Species Council, which touts the province’s rat-free existence since 1950. The shirt is a clever dig at the Panthers’ identity for both being a team known to cross the line, as well as the plastic rats that their fans often toss on the ice after wins.Ā

After Game 3, Mrs. McDavid had shared information about the rat control programs to her Instagram stories, clearly a targeted dig at the Panthers.
āAlbertaās rat control program is an incredible success story. Our Rat on Rats! campaign builds on this and calls on all Albertans to help keep Alberta rat-freeāif you see a rat, report it immediately! We all have a role to play in protecting Alberta from the impacts of invasive species,ā said Megan Evans, the executive director of Alberta Invasive Species Council, in a release outlining the campaign last fall.
With Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final slated for Saturday night in Edmonton, we can only wonder what sorts of shenanigans will be going down at Rogers Place this weekend.
