The sun was shining but hail was raining down in East Vancouver Saturday afternoon.
The little pellets began falling around 4:30 in Mount Pleasant, and quickly picked up in intensity.
The hailstones were no bigger than marbles, but they blanketed front lawns and made a loud noise as they hammered store awnings.

Environment Canada didn’t have hail in the forecast for Vancouver, but the weather agency is calling for showers Saturday evening and overnight. There’s also a chance of a thunderstorm early Saturday evening.
