According to VPD Const. Jason Robillard, officers were called to a “rooming house” on Princess Avenue near East Hastings Street just before 11 pm in response to the incident.

Upon their arrival, police found the victims – a man and a woman – “with lacerations.”

The pair, who Robillard said are both in their late 40s, were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Robillard told Daily Hive that a 26-year-old Vancouver man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody. He is facing charges relating to robbery, assault and weapon offences.

A second suspect has also been identified by police, who are still currently searching for him.

Despite this, however, Robillard said there is nothing to suggest that the general public is at risk, as the incident appears to be targeted.

The investigation, he added, remains ongoing.
