There's a new pasta king open in Gastown, and it's making Timpano (PHOTOS)
di Beppe Restaurant has officially opened shop in Joe Pizza’s former Gastown space at 8 West Cordova Street, and it’s quickly emerging as a the new place to get in on some serious Italian grub.
It opened earlier this month and has kept a pretty low profile, but it’s hard to hide their amazing eats – like this epic Timpano – a traditional Italian baked dish consisting pasta, meatballs, sausage, hard boiled eggs, salami, and cheese.

With dishes like this up for order combined with the fact that Letitia Wan (Ask For Luigi chef de cuisine) created the menu, it’s easy to see why this spot is gaining traction and has taken the top spot one people’s must-try lists right now.
While the Timpano isn’t on the daily menu, it will be featured once a month-ish, which is probably good if we want to fit in our pants. But they’ll also have a lot of other amazing carb-loaded dishes like pasta and pizzas, so we’re not that lucky.
The restaurant is serving up Italian eats while the subdivided space also holds a small coffee shop called Caffe Di Beppe. The cafe has a different address (2 West Cordova Street) and it’s all about the espresso, baked goods, and hot sandwiches – quick eats to keep us on the go.
The whole space was previous occupied by Joe Pizza, which has moved to UBC (6045 University Boulevard) in order to make room for the new tenant.
Both restaurants are part of the same group, The Kitchen Table Group, who also run St. Lawrence, Pourhouse, Pizzeria Farina, and Ask For Luigi.
