Joe Pizza: al taglio pizza in Gastown

Jan 11 2017, 1:39 am

You can add another restaurant to your list of Gastown must-hits for 2017.

Joe Pizza is open at 309 Carrall Street and serving up authentic Italian slices al taglio, AKA ‘za by the cut – no seriously, pizza scissors are fully a thing here.

If you’re thinking, “one slice is never enough,” you’re probably right because Roman-style pizzas at Joe’s are made with fresh produce, quality meats, and top-notch cheeses. Combine all this with a perfectly bubbled crispy-yet-soft crust and your dining experience in this counter-service spot will be absolutely bellissimo.

It’s no secret that the key to the perfect pizza lies in the crust – and Joe’s is made with organic flour in the authentic manner, allowing time for the dough to cool and rest before being fired up and made into our favourite Italian import.

This pizzeria offers rectangular slices in many varieties including classics like pizza margherita, funghi, and prosciutto, along with rotating taps of Brassneck beer.

This restaurant is brought to you by the same folks that gave us Pourhouse, Ask For Luigi, and Pizzeria Farina (if you’re a true sauce connoisseur you’ll be able to taste the same recipe used on pies at both Farina and Joe’s).

It’s a known fact that pizza is part of a balanced diet, so we’re pretty sure Joe’s will become a regular part of our schedules.
