You might want to check your cupboards in case you have recently purchased Dan-D Pak macadamia nuts.
The brand’s Raw Macadamia Nuts have been recalled due to salmonella in Alberta and British Columbia.
On July 18, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recalled the nuts from the marketplace due to possible salmonella contamination. There have been no reported issues and the recall was triggered by CFIA test results.

If you have any of the listed recalled products, the CFIA says that they should be “thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.”
If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider.
Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections.
Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.
