Account Executive, Agency Partnerships

  • Location: Toronto
  • Department: Sales
  • Role: You are a self-driven salesperson who is ready to dive into the grind of Toronto to build and sustain relationships with media buying agencies in Central/Eastern Canada, with a focus on Toronto. You’re familiar with the latest digital marketing practices and are capable of customizing advertising campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Requirements: We’re looking for someone with 3+ years experience in digital agency or sales, who has a strong understanding of the digital media industry and an existing media buying agency network in Canada. Bonus points if you have experience with programmatic sales. 

Sales Coordinator

  • Location: Vancouver
  • Department: Sales
  • Role: This is an entry level position for someone who is looking to get their foot in the door and gain some experience while contributing to the success of the sales team and the company as a whole. You’ll be focused on developing internal and external sales materials by facilitating with other departments within the company to gather data and metrics, turning the info into reports to be shared with all relevant departments.
  • Requirements: You have an analytical mindset and are super organized with strong attention to detail. You enjoy using Google Sheets or Excel and either are already a whiz at creating formulas on the platform or can’t wait to dive in to learn more and become an expert on these tools.

Director of Finance

  • Location: Vancouver
  • Department: Finance
  • Role: In this role, you’ll be overseeing all finance and accounting functions of the company, including financial statement preparation, forecasting, and analysis; policy creation and implementation; process and control improvements; budgetary management; and regulatory compliance. You’re a strategic thinker and an effective leader.
  • Requirements: You have your CPA designation and 5+ years of experience in a similar role. You have working knowledge of financial reporting software (Sage 50), as well as knowledge of Customer Relationship Management tools (Salesforce is preferred). You have experience in media and/or tech industries and experience with US and international transactions and operations.

Junior Accountant

  • Location: Vancouver
  • Department: Finance
  • Role: You’re a driven person who is looking to gain some valuable work experience, supporting the finance department by managing daily accounting to-dos. In this role, you’ll have the exciting task of preparing financial statements, recording transactions, and reporting, invoicing, and following up with any outstanding AR. 
  • Requirements: The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and is either CPA designated, or in the process of obtaining their designation. You are well-versed in accounting principles, able to work comfortably with numbers and have a strong attention to detail.

Director of Product

  • Location: Vancouver
  • Department: Product
  • Role: We are seeking an experienced and data-obsessed individual to help ensure Daily Hive’s continued growth. The Director of Product is expected to be a key revenue and profit driver for the company, ultimately with end-to-end performance responsibility across the lifecycle of the customer experience—acquisition, engagement, analytics, and attribution. This person should have a focus on (and love for) analytics – testing and establishing various customer segments to improve organic acquisition and engagement. 
  • Requirements: You have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Product Manager with superior data and analytical skills including the ability to define, capture, and deconstruct relevant metrics. You have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to inform and advise a diverse set of stakeholders. On top of that, you have a successful track record of scaling / increasing engagement and retention while limiting costs and maximizing lifetime value.

2 x Staff Writer

  • Location: Vancouver
  • Department: Editorial
  • Role: You are a self-starter who strongly believes in our mission of fostering a relationship between people and their city and are passionate and excited to do that through the power of journalism. You’ll be responsible for creating content that is compelling, concise, and relevant to our audience. You will work with our Editorial Department and be a key player in the day-to-day content production for our network.
  • Requirements: The ideal candidate has a minimum of one year experience writing for a publication with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have an  intermediate knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics, proficiency in the use of WordPress or other CMS, and an excellent understanding of social media and its importance to journalism.

Senior Staff Writer, Mapped

  • Location: Vancouver
  • Department: Editorial
  • Role: You have a passion for all things travel. In fact, you’ve traveled far and wide and are ecstatic to sit down to write and create content about your adventures to help build up our travel channel, Mapped. You’re excited to learn about new places, educate people with your previous travels while fulfilling peoples’ wanderlust, and create the travel itineraries of dreams. You’re a go-getter and a self starter, and just the person to take Mapped’s editorial strategy global.
  • Requirements: We’re looking for someone with a minimum of two years experience writing for a publication who has excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have an extensive travel experience and an intermediate knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.

Vancouver City Editor (Maternity Leave, One Year Contract)

  • Location: Vancouver
  • Department: Editorial
  • Role: You are a leader who is passionate about your community and creating stories that matter. You’re capable of handling multiple projects, and multiple staff members, at once while maintaining a positive attitude. You know that breaking news can happen at any time and you are more than ready to jump on it and ensure that you and your team can fulfill the task at hand. You’re a forward-thinker who enjoys working with stakeholders at all levels and are not afraid of challenges. Above all, you are passionate and knowledgeable about Metro Vancouver and are ready to further foster the relationship between its people and their city.
  • Requirements: You have a minimum of five years experience working for a media organization with two years in a leadership role. You have an excellent understanding of social media and SEO and their importance to publishing and proven experience as an effective team leader as well as the ability to work independently.

Junior Staff Writer

  • Location: Edmonton
  • Department: Editorial
  • Role: In this position, you’ll be helping to grow our audience and brand in Edmonton. You’ll be investigating and reporting news stories, sometimes breaking at any moment and time, ensuring articles that are written follow company guidelines and are ready for senior editorial staff to publish. You will need to conduct necessary research required to produce content and remain up to date on events happening in YEG. 
  • Requirements: The ideal candidate has a minimum of six months experience writing for a publication. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a working knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
