98-year-old cyclist taken to hospital after serious collision with vehicle

An elderly cyclist has been taken to the hospital after a serious car crash.

On Friday morning, at approximately 9:46 am, Abbotsford Emergency Services were called to a collision on Bevan Avenue and Primrose Street involving a cyclist and a vehicle.

According to police, the bicycle was travelling northbound on Primrose Street and the car was travelling eastbound on Bevan Avenue.

The cyclist, a 98-year-old man, was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The driver, an 83-year-old female, did not suffer any injuries. She remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

Members of the Abbotsford Police Department Collision Reconstructionists and Patrol Division Officers continue to investigate the crash.
