BC reports 519 new COVID-19 cases

A total of 519 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the province, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control dashboard, bringing the provincially recorded total to 59,072.

There were also 12 more deaths in BC in the last 24 hours, bringing the province’s death toll to 1,031.

There are now 4,810 active cases in BC. Of those, 360 people are in hospital with 76 of them in ICU.

More than 7,000 people in the province are self-isolating while being monitored by public health staff because they’re a known close contact of someone with the virus.

A new outbreak was also declared at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake.

There have been 51,893 people who have now recovered from the virus.
