Additional coronavirus testing centre opens in North Vancouver

As part of a continued effort to increase COVID-19 testing across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) has opened an additional assessment facility in North Vancouver.

The testing centre opened last week and is the second in the municipality. It’s located in the parking lot of Centennial Threatre on Lonsdale Avenue and is open seven days a week from 8 am to 7 pm.

It’s also able to accommodate both walk-in and drive-through patients.

Anyone who wishes to visit the newly-opened centre can do so on a first-come, first-serve basis — referrals or appointments are not necessary.

Visitors will need a BC Services Cards and to wear a medical mask at all times, even in their vehicle.

The opening of North Vancouver’s second assessment centre comes shortly after another facility opened near Vancouver Community College.

VCH says that operating hours in Richmond and other assessment locations are expanding over the coming weeks.

Additionally, Fraser Health announced last week that it was expanding access to testing by opening two high-volume assessment centres, as well as increasing existing testing capacity.
