BC health officials announce 15 new coronavirus cases, two more deaths

British Columbia health officials have announced 15 new test-positive coronavirus cases and another two deaths as a result of COVID-19.

At a noon-hour press conference on Saturday, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said the total number of recorded cases in the province now sits at 2,330.

Broken down by health region, there are 871 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,098 in Fraser Health, 125 on Vancouver Island, 180 in Interior Health, and 56 in Northern Health.

The new deaths bring BC’s coronavirus death toll to 129.

Out of the total number of cases, 69 people are in hospital, with 21 of them in intensive care. A total of 1,659 people are now considered fully recovered.

A total of 19 outbreaks in the province have now been declared over, as well.
