BC health officials report 13 new coronavirus cases, one additional death

BC health officials confirmed 13 new coronavirus cases in the province on Tuesday, along with one additional death related to the virus.

These latest cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the province to 2,835, according to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

Broken down by health region, Henry said this equates to 960 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,480 in Fraser Health, 131 on Vancouver Island, 199 in Interior Health and 65 in Northern Health.

She added that the total number of active cases currently sits at 174, and out of these, 16 people are in hospital, and seven of those are in ICU.

Henry said the latest death was a person in long-term care in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, and the provincial death toll now sits at 170.

A total of 2,491 people are now considered to be full recovered, as well.
