They’ve had it in Toronto for years, but the Colette Grand Café just opened the doors to its first location in Vancouver this week.

It’s located in luxury department store Holt Renfrew, on the upper main floor near Louis Vuitton. Its replaced the Holts Café and is quite a room (that has a surprisingly delightful amount of natural light).

Soft blue hues scatter the dining area while impressive marble bar and table tops next to sleek leather seating, tie this cafe’s chic yet cozy atmosphere together.

It’s the kind of room you could sit in for a while, which is good because there’s a lot to eat.

Boasting a stacked daily menu for lunch and dinner and an impressive brunch selection for weekends, this new French cafe could easily become the next destination on your foodie bucket-list.

Not too mention, all of the dishes are plated Insta-ready.

Patrons can expect share plates like bruschetta and oysters, and small plates such as beef tartare, moules frites, and juicy bacon wrapped scallops.

Like any on-point cafe in a department store, Colette has a selection of fresh sandwiches and salads – five of the latter to be exact, which range from kale to niçoise to a grain bowl.

Between the pasta and large plates, you’ve got your pick of proteins with everything from Arctic Char, strip loin, Dungeness crab, and Pacific Cod, to name a few. These are full-blown filling meals, and most of the larger plates can be made gluten-free.

Colette’s brunch is served Saturday until 3 pm and all day Sunday. This spread includes lighter fare like smoothie bowls and croissants along with hearty plates like steak and eggs, benedicts, pierogies, Belgian waffles, and a Monte Cristo sandwich.

And what would a French spot be without dessert? This spot has tiramisu, chocolate fondant, lemon cake, and semifreddo up for order.

Fully licensed and fully loaded when it comes to grub, Colette should be on your hit list for a meal in the future. Most dishes range from $13 to $40 so you can choose your own adventure regarding price.
