The restaurant industry in Vancouver can be fickle and – once again – the city’s dining scene has suffered some casualties. Alas, this is the way of the foodie world.

Doolin’s Irish Pub and neighbouring businesses the Belmont Bar and Comfort Inn officially shut their doors on November 1, 2018. The businesses, located at 654 Nelson Street, shuttered in order to create space for a brand new boutique hotel.

Yeh! Frozen Yogurt

Canadian frozen yogurt chain Yeh! Frozen Yogurt has officially closed its only BC location. The sole sweet spot in the province was located at 985 Denman Street in Vancouver’s West End.

The 560 Davie Street eatery’s last day of operation was October 30. This restaurant is one of a handful of businesses closing to make way for approximately 146 units of new affordable rental housing in a mixed-use development.
Zipang Provisions

Management of beloved Vancouver Japanese restaurant, Zipang Provisions, announced they would no longer be running the 3068 Main Street eatery after November 8. The Mount Pleasant gem has been open at its current location for six years, before that it operated at 21 Avenue for seven years under the same owners.

This much-loved East Vancouver eatery announced it would be shutting its doors after its last day of service on November 8, marking 7.5 years of operation at its 2297 E Hastings Street spot.

Cinara, a staple in downtown Vancouver for pasta and wine (in one of the coolest dining rooms around), has announced it will be closing its doors at the end of 2018. One of the eatery’s three Chefs/Owners, Dustin Dockendorf, told Daily Hive the 350 West Pender Street eatery will be offering its last dinner service on December 31, New Year’s Eve.
