UPDATE: Power is now restored across much of the Burnaby and CARI campuses. Evening/part-time classes will proceed as scheduled. Daytime classes continue to be cancelled.

BCIT has announced that all daytime classes and exams at its Burnaby and CARI campuses are cancelled due to ongoing power outages.

“We ask all students, staff, and faculty to safely make their way off Burnaby and CARI campuses,” said BCIT media relations, in a statement.

BCIT will provide an update at 2 pm today regarding evening classes.

BC Hydro says that crews are on site and working on fixing the problem.
