Just in time for Christmas: Snow forecast for Vancouver this weekend

Dec 23 2017, 1:30 am

For those dreaming of a white Christmas in Vancouver this year, your dreams may just come true.

While the second official day of winter has brought sunny skies over the city, this weekend will see a mixed bag of weather and yes, this includes snow.

According to Environment Canada, the sun is set to shine throughout the day on Friday as well as Saturday.

However, with increasing cloudiness and below-zero temperatures in the forecast, the city could see the flakes start coming down on Sunday.

And in case you weren’t paying attention, Sunday is December 24 – also known as Christmas Eve.

Of course, snow in the forecast means temperatures will generally be a little chilly throughout the weekend – particularly during the night – when they are expected to dip a few degrees below the freezing mark.

By comparison, daytime temperatures will linger just a a couple of degrees above it.

So if you thought the snow we had this past week might be all we were getting for Christmas, it appears Mother Nature has a few more treats in store for us this season.

Bundle up!
