You could win a trip for two to Galiano Island by dining around Vancouver's Chinatown

While some restaurants and bars have seen major increases in traffic during the FIFA World Cup, that’s not the case for all Vancouver eateries, especially places in Chinatown, which are further away from all the FIFA excitement. So, to help encourage visitors to dine in the neighbourhood, some of the top restaurants and bars in Chinatown are teaming up to offer a stamp-collecting experience with a pretty sweet prize.
Introducing the Chinatown Passport, a digital stamp challenge that will take locals and tourists alike to different restaurants in Chinatown, all for a chance to win a two-day trip to Bodega Ridge on Galiano.
Currently, participating restaurants and bars in the Chinatown Passport experience include Bagheera, Bar Gobo, Barbara, Bao Bei, The Chickadee Room, Chinatown BBQ, DD Mau, Fat Mao Noodles, Harvest, Irish Heather, Juke Fried Chicken, The Keefer Bar, Kissa Tanto, Lao Wai, Meo, Pizza Coming Soon, Propaganda, Say Hey, and Touski, with more expected to join.
“The World Cup has brought incredible energy to the city, and it’s been amazing to be part of it. But like any big event, the energy isn’t always evenly spread out as many of our friends and neighbours in Chinatown have seen a considerable dip in business compared to this time last year,” explained Tannis Ling, co-owner, Bao Bei, Meo, and Kissa Tanto. “We decided to do something about it and create something fun. That’s how we came up with the Chinatown Passport.”

The Chinatown Passport is a simple web-based experience (no download required). You just open the link on any phone browser, review a map of participating venues, then collect a digital “stamp” at each location they visit by scanning a QR code (with a minimum purchase required).
“Whether you’re just visiting this summer or live nearby, we want people to come and experience this neighbourhood,” adds Pat Hennessy, chef-owner of Michelin-starred Barbara. “The Chinatown Passport gives people a reason to check-out favourites and discover places they might never have found. We have a high concentration of the best cafés, bars, and restaurants in Vancouver which makes our Chinatown very special. We just want to share it with visitors and remind locals we’re here during the World Cup.”
The Chinatown Passport runs from July 1 to 31 and can be found online.
