Charges have been approved against two men in connection with a brazen shooting in Vancouver’s Dunbar neighbourhood Tuesday evening.

The victim was a 42-year-old man who was carrying a baby in a car seat at the time. He was shot while exiting a restaurant near West 29th Avenue and Dunbar Street, and taken to hospital to treat his injuries, according to Vancouver police.

Now Liban Hassan, 35, and Ahmed Ismail, 24, are facing attempted murder charges in connection with the violence, which police say was targeted.

Both men will remain behind bars until they appear in court next week.

Vancouver police are still investigating the crime, and ask anyone with dashcam footage from the area between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm on October 6 to contact them at 604-717-2541.
