One of the best parts of the holidays are the treats that come with it, and while there are a ton of talented makers in Vancouver gearing up for this seasons’ snacking, we can’t deny a solid special edition doughnut.

Much-loved local shop Cartems always provides stellar seasonal flavours to suit the time of year, and the Vancouver-based family of stores didn’t disappoint with its 2018 lineup.

New treats to look forward to includes the adorable Gingerbread Nog made from gingerbread cake with eggnog glaze, rum chocolate drizzle, and topped with a gingerbread cookie and the Sweet Snow, a chocolate cake base with white chocolate ganache, and topped with toasted coconut.

Next up there’s a Candied Nut and Orange variety, a combination of a yeast doughnut made with a with a chestnut glaze and topped with hazelnut praline, toasted chestnuts, and zested orange. This offering can be made gluten-free and it’s vegan.

If you’ve got a true sweet tooth you’ll likely opt for the Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch, a hazelnut chocolate glazed yeast doughnut stuffed with tofu chocolate mousse and topped with sponge toffee.

Lastly, Cartems will be serving up a traditional Sufganiyot (jelly donut), which will be available during Hanukkah from December 2 to 10.
