Cast of Vancouver-filmed 'Carrie' shouts out favourite spots

Season 1 of Carrie, which was filmed in Vancouver, is now available on Amazon Prime, and some of the actors in the show shouted out their favourite spots in the city in a recent interview.
Toronto influencer Sher Everywhere was able to catch up with some of the crew at the Toronto International Film Festival, and she picked their brains about Vancouver.
Among those interviewed were Summer H. Howell, who plays the titular Carrie, horror icon Matthew Lillard, and Alison Thornton.
Based on the Stephen King classic book of the same name, Carrie follows Carrie White, who develops psychic abilities after being bullied by her peers at a high school. That high school was also located in Vancouver, and it was none other than Eric Hamber Secondary School.
In Sher’s interview with some members of the cast, some shouted out pretty frequently mentioned spots, like when Lillard said, “Stanley Park’s obviously amazing.”
“The walk along the water is fantastic,” he added, likely referring to the seawall.
Lillard also said Vancouver “does feel like Hollywood North.”

The Rio Theatre also got some love from Thornton, who said that some of the cast went to the iconic Vancouver cinema.
Thornton said the Rio is one of her favourite theatres. She also gave a shout-out to Sing Sing on Commercial Drive. She also mentioned that she grew up in Vancouver.
Kate Siegel, who has starred in a bunch of spooky TV shows, was also on hand and mentioned a spot that not many celebrities talk about: Lions Bay. She said it is one of her favourite places to visit.
Siegel also gave Main Street some love, saying that on the adored street, there are a “series of great stores like Front & Co, Nouvelle Nouvelle.
She then exclaimed, “Oh, I love Vancouver!”
Howell echoed those sentiments with the same words.
Carrie began streaming a week ago and has received generally favourable reviews from both fans and critics, according to Metacritic.
