'GTA Vancouver edition': Car filmed driving along seawall stuns onlookers

A driver in Vancouver recently turned some heads after they took a wrong turn and ended up driving along the seawall.
Vlad Bohachski spotted the incident last week in the early afternoon near Sunset Beach in the city’s west end.
“I took it while having my lunch at Sunset Beach at 1:45 p.m.,” Bohachski told Daily Hive.
“I was just there to enjoy the nice day when I looked over and saw that car driving along the seawall. Started filming as it turned around.”

Footage captured by Bohachski shows a red sedan completing a three-point turn to head east on the seawall near ongoing construction at the beach.
Some pedestrians gawk at the car as it slowly drives forward, while others do not look terribly surprised by the sight.
One passerby steps in front of the vehicle to make it stop, gesturing that the car should get out of their way.

According to the BC Motor Vehicle Act, “A driver must not drive on a sidewalk, walkway or boulevard, except when entering or leaving a driveway or lane or when entering or leaving land adjacent to a highway, or by permission granted under a bylaw.”
The City of Vancouver’s driving bylaws are similar. They tell drivers not to stop or park on sidewalks or sidewalk crossings.
Dozens of comments online ridiculed the seawall driver.
“Hopefully the police caught up to that idiotic driver and not only ticket that person but also suspended their driver’s license,” said one person in a local Facebook driving group.

“How did that person even get there? I can’t even find paid parking spots,” read another comment.
This is not the first time that a Vancouver driver has found themselves somewhere that they shouldn’t be.
A Tesla was spotted driving on the sidewalk on East 10th Avenue near Commercial–Broadway Station before continuing down an East Van bike lane.
And a Vancouver driver opted to forgo the road and take the path less travelled along the pedestrian path of the seawall near False Creek and Science World.
