Vancouver Canucks selling old maroon Rogers Arena seats and here's how much they cost

The Vancouver Canucks are offering fans to “own a piece of history.”

With installation of new seats in full force at Rogers Arena, the Canucks have over 18,000 maroon seats to dispose of. Today, they offered them to season ticket members for a price.

“We want to offer you the opportunity to take home your current seats from Rogers Arena,” the team said in an email to full season ticket members on Friday.

Fans can buy a 30-year-old seat for $50, with the money being donated to the Canucks For Kids Fund charity.

Former Canucks COO Jeff Stipec first floated the idea of changing the seats at Rogers Arena in August of 2018. The topic has developed into an obsession for fans (and some of us in the media) ever since.

The new seats are black and promise to have more cushion than the previous ones, which were installed before the building opened as GM Place in 1995.

While we could see some mismatched seats for concerts and other events this summer, the entire arena is expected to have the new seats installed before puck drops on the next Canucks season.
