Canucks construction continues as Rogers Arena gets new seats in place
Rogers Arena will never look the same again, as the home of the Vancouver Canucks is getting an offseason makeover.
The process of removing over 18,000 maroon seats has begun, and we now have high-resolution visual evidence. The Canucks shared photos of the new seats in place and it looks like they’re beginning with the club section.
This is a moment so highly anticipated that the Canucks even released a seat factory sizzle reel.

The seats do appear to have significantly more cushion than the previous ones.

There is lots of work to be done, though the month of May provides ample time with the Canucks failing to qualify for the playoffs and just one event on Rogers Arena’s calendar (Rock Stars on Ice on May 13).

It remains to be seen what will happen with the old seats. Will they simply disposed of, or perhaps they’ll be made available for purchase for Canucks collectors.
