Here's how fast the Sedins and Trevor Linden did Grouse Grind
If you see Daniel Sedin strutting around town with an extra pep in his step, it’s for good reason.
The Vancouver Canucks legend claimed bragging rights over his brother Henrik Sedin on Sunday in the inaugural “Sedin vs. Sedin” race at Grouse Mountain.

The event featured 400 people racing up the Grouse Grind, raising over $85,000 for the Sedin Family Foundation in support of the Vancouver Sun Children’s Fund’s Adopt-A-School program. The prize raffle is continuing throughout Monday, if you’d like to help support the cause.
The Sedins, who celebrated their 46th birthdays over the weekend, are famous for their blistering times on the Grouse Grind, regularly beating their teammates during their playing days. Their dominance continued even after they retired from pro hockey in 2018, beating Canucks prospects half their age to the top.

The Sedins were 45 seconds apart in Sunday’s race, with Daniel finishing with a time of 42:37. Henrik made it to the top in 43:22.
“We might need a rematch next year,” Henrik said defiantly after the race.
Probably no surprise that Daniel won, considering that he once completed the Grouse Grind 11 times in one day. He usually comes out on top when the twins race.
“We’ve done the Grouse Grind many times over the last 26 years, but getting the chance to officially race each other for a great cause and have so many people join us made the day really special,” said Daniel.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who raced, fundraised and donated in support of the Sedin Family Foundation, and proud to kick off the Adopt-A-School program’s fall fundraising campaign in a big way,” Henrik added.

The Sedins’ former Canucks teammate, Trevor Linden, wasn’t far behind them. The 56-year-old Canucks legend completed the race in 47:41.
Vancouver Goldeneyes forward Jennifer Gardiner (53:23) also competed, while Michael Bublé made an appearance to show support.

“The energy on the Grouse Grind and the mountaintop was incredible,” said Linden. “Seeing everyone come together to give back to local B.C. children and families, and have fun doing it, made me grateful to be part of such an amazing community.”
