Western Family and the Vancouver Canucks have teamed up to create Bar Down Blast – a limited-edition treat featuring vanilla ice cream swirled with blue ripple and caramel-filled mini chocolatey pucks.
Start saying goodbye to the old maroon seats at Rogers Arena.
Work has begun at the home of the Vancouver Canucks, as new seats with cupholders are finally being installed.

Was sent this photo by a friend. Looks like new seats are being installed at Rogers Arena. The arena only has one event scheduled this month, which is Rock Stars On Ice scheduled for May 13. pic.twitter.com/DeBst9HdJs

The Canucks updated season ticket members in March about their plan to have the new seats installed. In an email to fans, the team said the “organization’s mission” was to “begin the process of replacing the seats at Rogers Arena immediately following the conclusion of the Canucks season.”
On Tuesday, the Canucks confirmed construction had begun, sharing a photo of the comfy new seats.
“Changes are coming to Rogers Arena,” the team said on social media.

As promised, the new seats have cupholders, which appear to be positioned behind each armrest.
There also appears to be a Canucks logo on the aisle seat, which is another new addition.

The new seats are a long time coming. The previous seats had been in place ever since the arena opened as General Motors Place 30 years ago.
Former Canucks COO Jeff Stipec told Sekeres and Price back in 2018 that the seats would be changing colour — though he thought they would be blue and green to match the team’s colours.
“We’re coming up to the life of those seats and I think when we do change them, they’ll be more aligned with the brand and the colours of the organization,” Stipec said at the time. “I can’t see us bringing in the crimson red seats as a new buy.”

The entire arena is expected to have new seats in place for the start of next season.
Rogers Arena has a light schedule for May, with just one event scheduled (Rock Stars on Ice on May 13), so we could see quite a bit of progress in the coming weeks.
Following that event, there are just five concerts scheduled at Rogers Arena until the end of July: Volbeat & Three Days Grace (June 7), Siavash Ghomayshi (June 21), Wu-Tang Clan (June 30), Babbu Maan (July 20), and Katy Perry (July 22).
August is much busier, with two Tate McRae concerts (Aug. 4 and 5), Nine Inch Nails (Aug. 10), WNBA (Aug. 15), Creed (Aug. 16), and Cyndi Lauper (Aug. 21).
The Canucks typically begin preseason in September, with the puck dropping on the regular season in October.
