The Vancouver Canucks are giving Rogers Arena a makeover.
The organization has already replaced some seats in their home arena and has now unveiled its plans as to when the rest will be switched over.
A quarter-season ticket pack holder shared an email from the Canucks with Offside, which shows the team’s timeline for the project. The club says they plan to replace the seats right after the Canucks season ends.
The quarter-season ticket holder was invited to view potential seat upgrades on April 9, an earlier date than usual, to accommodate the upcoming changes.
“We are hosting this event earlier in the year compared to previous seasons due to the organization’s mission to begin the process of replacing the seats at Rogers Arena immediately following the conclusion of the Canucks season, during which time our team will have extremely limited access to the seating bowl due to construction,” reads the message from the team.
As of right now, only a few rows in the lower bowl have been switched from the old maroon seats to the sleek new black ones. This change was done before the 2024-25 season started.
The new black seats have more cushion than the previous ones, and each spot has a cup holder. These are not special seats, and eventually, the whole arena will look like this.

The Canucks play their final regular season game on April 16. That’s the earliest their season can end, but they’re in the midst of a playoff race, and if they make the postseason, then that will delay the seat change until they’re eliminated.
After last night’s overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues, the Canucks are just outside a playoff spot. They have a 30.4 per cent chance of making the playoffs, per hockey analytics site MoneyPuck.
The Canucks moved to Rogers Arena for the 1995-96 season, making it the ninth oldest arena still being used in the league.
The upgraded seats are just one component of a larger Rogers Arena renovation plan, which has been in progress. Some areas outside have been repainted, more televisions have been added to the concourse, and other changes have been made.
