The Vancouver Canucks have given Rogers Arena an update with some fresh banners and paint, removing nearly every image of former star J.T. Miller.
Miller was traded back on Jan.31 after a feud with co-star Elias Pettersson boiled over publically. However, his image was still on the team’s home arena after the trade. That is no longer the case.
The Canucks haven’t only worked to replace Miller on the ice, they’ve also worked to replace his image off of it. As an assistant captain, Miller was on numerous banners, murals, and graphics plastered around the arena. His face is now virtually gone, replaced mostly by forwards Jake DeBrusk and Conor Garland.
One of the more prominent examples was outside Gate 3, where a Miller banner hung prominently beside one featuring captain Quinn Hughes. The club has replaced this with a Garland banner.

Miller and Hughes had another set of banners hanging above Gate 8. The Canucks have taken down this one but haven’t yet replaced it. Right now, nothing hangs in its place.

The club repainted the North Plaza ahead of this season as part of greater stadium upgrade plans. That project included adding a large mural featuring some of the team’s most important players in Hughes, Miller, Pettersson, Brock Boeser, and Thatcher Demko.
Miller has now been replaced by DeBrusk on that banner while all the other players are in the same pose.

The North Plaza also features several large columns which have been plastered with images of players. While Miller was on several of these pillars before, he’s now been replaced by Garland and DeBrusk.

A large graphic beside the team store has also been updated as Garland has replaced Miller. The rest of the image, which also features Demko and Pettersson, has stayed exactly the same.

Photos beside the ticket booths have also been changed. Miller is gone, and Garland has taken his place.
There is only one place where Miller’s face remains, and it’s on the cover of a merchandise booth in the North Plaza. That cover is hidden when the booth is open on game nights, and it will likely be replaced soon.

The Canucks are planning more changes to Rogers Arena soon. The long-awaited seat upgrade is underway and expected to reach full force immediately after the season finishes.
