The Vancouver Canucks are keeping an annual tradition alive and well with the release of new Diwali-inspired gear.

The team announced on Thursday that local artist Suki Kaur designed an amalgamation of the Canucks logo along with Diwali themes.

Kaur designed the skate logo with nods to the peacock, flame, and the night sky.

“The Diwali flame is a well-known symbol of light overcoming darkness,” Kaur mentioned through the Canucks.

“I wanted to depict it as a steady, growing glow to represent hope and the inner light that guides us through even the darkest of times.”

Here’s hoping the new jersey design helps the Canucks keep their hope and inner light alive after a concerning start.

Kaur also designed a shoulder patch that combines the peacock with the Canucks’ stick-in-rink logo.

The Canucks are hosting Diwali night on Wednesday, Nov. 5, when they play Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks at Rogers Arena.

The full jersey, now available for purchase, isn’t cheap, with a retail price of $750.

Thankfully, there are less expensive options.

Hoodies featuring the Diwali-inspired skate logo are available for $90. Hats can be purchased for $45, while T-shirts cost $38. Both the hats and T-shirts are available with either one of the new logos.

This is the fifth season that the Canucks have released Diwali-themed gear. The first season they did so was back in 2021, which prompted Seth Rogen to show his love for the design.

Diwali is the festival of lights, which is an important religious celebration for Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs (Bandi Chhor Divas). It’s being observed on Oct. 20 this year.
