
Themed nights are coming back to Rogers Arena.
On Wednesday, the Vancouver Canucks announced that they’re holding eight community and fan engagement nights through the first half of the season.
Most of the themed events are returning from last year, with one new addition.
On Friday, Dec. 5, the Canucks will be celebrating Filipino Heritage Night as they take on the Utah Mammoth. This is the first time in club history that the Canucks will hold a celebration for the Filipino community.
The City of Vancouver also marked May 2, 2025, as an official day of remembrance and mourning, following the horrific Lapu Lapu Festival attack from April 26, 2025.
According to the 2021 census, 3.5 per cent of British Columbia’s population is Filipino, making it the third-largest visible minority in the province.
Here are the seven other fan celebration nights that the Canucks will be hosting this season.
- 30th Anniversary of Rogers Arena (Oct. 9 vs. Calgary Flames)
- Diwali Night (Nov. 5 vs. Chicago Blackhawks)
- Hockey Fights Cancer (Nov. 8 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets)
- Christmas Game (Dec. 11 vs. Buffalo Sabres)
- Hockey Talks, honouring Rick Rypien’s Legacy (Jan. 19 vs. New York Islanders)
- Pride Night (Jan. 21 vs. Washington Capitals)
- Firefighters Night (Jan. 23 vs. New Jersey Devils)
