Vancouver Canucks mascot Fin snubbed by Mascot Hall of Fame
Fin got snubbed.
After a global campaign that pulled in votes from 109 countries around the world, the results are in. The Mascot Hall of Fame has named its Class of 2026, revealing five new inductees live on Good Morning America on ABC.
Despite the Vancouver Canucks’ best effort on social media, campaigning hard for their whale of a mascot, Fin didn’t get in.

Fin was one of 11 finalists for the Mascot Hall of Fame this year. He was both the lone finalist from Canada and the only NHL mascot on the ballot.
The five new inductees include three college sports mascots, one from the NFL, and one from MLB. Set to be enshrined are: Cocky (University of South Carolina), Goldy Gopher (University of Minnesota), Cosmo (Brigham Young University), Miles (Denver Broncos), and Mrs. Met (New York Mets).

The mascots were chosen through a mix of public voting and ballots from the Mascot Hall of Fame executive committee.
“This year’s election demonstrates something we’ve always believed,” said Mascot Hall of Fame co-founder Christopher Bruce. “Mascots create memories that last a lifetime. They inspire kids, young and old, unite communities, comfort people in difficult moments, and remind us that laughter is something we all share and need. Support from 109 countries is humbling. It proves mascots are genuinely global ambassadors of happiness.”
Fin has been the Canucks’ mascot for the past 25 years, appearing in over 1,000 games since then (regular season + playoffs).Ā The same man, whose identity we’ll continue to keep secret, has been performing as Fin since the beginning.
